Futur v-ing - cours d'anglais 1z643e

The future continuous tense is often used in English when we want to talk about an action or event at a specific time in the future. It indicates an unfinished event or action that will be continued at a time later than now. 543nt

Affirmative Form: Subject + Auxiliary verb (Will)+ Auxiliary verb (BE) + Main verb [(base + ing)or (Present participle)]. Example: I will be getting up at 6 am.

Negative Form: Subject + Auxiliary verb (Will) + NOT + Auxiliary verb (BE) + Main verb [(base + ing) or (Present participle)]. Example: He will not having lunch at the restaurant.

Interrogative Form: Auxiliary verb (WILL) + Subject + Auxiliary verb (BE) + Main verb [(base+ ing) or (Present participle)]? Example: Will you be playing soccer?

Interrogative Negative Form: Auxiliary verb (WILL) + Subject + NOT + Auxiliary verb (BE) + Main verb [(base + ing) or (Present participle)]? Example: Won't you be playing volleyball?

Notice:Sometimes we use “SHALL ”instead of “WILL”,especially for I and We.

Contraction form in the future continuous tense: when speaking, we often use the contraction form of “WILL” in the future continuous (progressive) tense. I will = I'll, You will = You'll, He will = he'll, She will = she'll, It will =it'll, We will = we'll, They will = they'll. In negative sentences, “will not” may change into “won't”.

Usage of the future continuous tense: As we said, the future continuous describes an action at a specific point of time in the future. The action will not have started before that point of time but it will not have finished at that point of time. For example: I will start studying at 3 pm and stop studying at 7 pm  tomorrow. We can say: At 5 pm tomorrow, I will be studying. Because: At 5 pm, I will be in the middle of studying. It means: We can use the future continuous tense for the upper example, from 3 pm to 7 pm  tomorrow.

Important notice 1: The future continuous tense is only used with action verb, because we cannot use it for a period of time. (We use action verb to indicate an activity. Action verbs like: Run, See, Think ...).

Important notice 2: Sometimes we use the future continuous tense to guess or predict something about future events. Examples: I expect that James will be coming to the party. I guess John will be feeling sad after stopping his work in the mine.

Important notice 3: In positive sentences, the future continuous tense can be used for asking politely information about the future. Examples: Will you be coming with your friend to the party tomorrow night? Will I be sleeping in this room tonight?

Important notice 4: When we expect a continuously event to happen in the future, we can use the future continuous tense. Examples: I'll be seeing Mark at the conference next month. When Mike is in Austria he will be staying with his family.

Important notice 5: When we use STILL in the future continuous tense that means events are already happening now and go on in the future. Examples: In two hours I'll still be ironing my shirts. Tomorrow Jack will still be suffering from his pain. Next month will she still be wearing a size seven?
